Molly Paradice | The Spirit of Made by Molly

Molly Paradice | The Spirit of Made by Molly

Molly Paradice is the colour-loving, bead-hoarding creative behind Made by Molly—a jewellery label that’s as sun-kissed, sparkly, and unapologetic as she is. Her pieces are made for beach days that turn into bar nights, for clashing patterns that just work, and for anyone who dresses to feel good. We caught up with Molly to peek inside her creative brain, hear what she’s unlearned, and find out what’s next on her horizon.

Made by Molly is playful, unapologetic, and inherently feminine. How would you define the spirit of the brand in your own words?

Made by Molly is my dream child, born from the essence of summer. It captures that infectious energy in the air: days spent by the beach that roll into nights at the bar, salty and sun-kissed. I want each piece to spark a smile and carry that sense of freedom. Colour is central to everything I create—it brings joy, invites playfulness, and encourages people to express themselves fully and unapologetically. At its heart, Made by Molly is about feeling good, embracing the moment, and not taking life too seriously.

Your pieces feel both instinctive and considered. Would you say your making process is more intuitive or structured?

For me, all of my pieces are a balance between head and heart. I’ll get into a zone and intuitively pull beads and create patterns, then I’ll sit back and ask myself: would someone actually wear this? Will it sit comfortably on the neck or wrist? Or is it just something wild from my subconscious? This helps me refine my designs, but overall, it’s an extremely intuitive process.

Has your relationship to jewellery evolved since launching Made by Molly? Has wearing your own work revealed anything unexpected along the way?

Since launching Made by Molly, I’ve truly come to understand the power of jewellery—not just as an accessory, but as a form of self-expression that shapes how you carry yourself and show up in the world. I believe jewellery is one of the most personal elements of style; it holds sentiment, tells stories, and often becomes a part of your identity. Wearing my own pieces has helped me uncover more of my true personal style. It’s encouraged me to dress for myself, not for trends—to be bolder, more playful, and more authentically me.

What’s something you’ve had to unlearn—creatively or personally—since starting the brand?

I’ve had to unlearn taking other people’s opinions so seriously—both creatively and personally. At the end of the day, we’re all different. My brand and I have gotten to where we are because of my decisions, not someone else’s. Being true to yourself is all you really have in this world, and I’ve realised that since starting Made by Molly. I noticed that when I designed pieces I thought people would love, or that fit a certain trend or aesthetic, they would flop. But when I created something that felt like an extension of myself, those pieces would do really well.

You’re about to spend a few months in London. What’s on your mood board for this next chapter, and what are you hoping to explore while you're there?

My mood board is full of city-summer street style, clashing patterns that somehow work together, and layers of anything that sparkles—especially jewellery. I want to explore my personal style and be more creative and expressive, which is so much easier in a city where you don’t know anyone. I’m excited to see how this will influence my MBM designs for the Australian summer season.

Will you be creating while overseas, or are you giving yourself space to recharge and reset?

A bit of both. I’ve been here for about a month now, and I’m starting to feel a little restless… I may be paying some bead shops a visit soon. I think it’s important to step back sometimes and take a breather to get re-inspired—otherwise, I know burnout is a very real possibility for me.

What are you listening to at the moment—either in the studio or while wandering around London?

A lot of Olivia Dean, Folamour, Jungle, Kaytranada, and Flight Facilities. Also, I’m a sucker for a podcast—Call Her Daddy, obviously—and Mel Robbins has been growing on me lately.

Which Made by Molly pieces made it into your suitcase?

All of them. I’m not joking when I say my jewellery weighs 5kg. I also brought over a new limited-edition range of pieces to shoot, which is exciting.

And finally—what’s your go-to drink after a long day at the studio?

I’ll never go past a Tommy’s Marg or a chilled red, but if it’s been a really, really long day—a dirty, filthy martini.
