Claudia Jones is a lively, gorgeous, and effervescent human, and her flowers are exactly the same—vibrant and full of personality. From a young age, she knew flowers had a magic all their own, inspired by her mum’s delicate watercolours of tulips. A diehard tulip lover, Claudia delights in their unpredictability, watching them grow and change shape with the light each day. Whether she’s creating florals for her best friends’ weddings, curating a thoughtful bunch of Lily of the Valley on a chilly market morning, or filling her Blues Point shop with blooms and a playlist ranging from Black Eyed Peas to Lana Del Rey, her arrangements reflect her warmth, creativity, and joy for life. Read our interview, shot in her beautiful store, and if you’re ever in Blues Point, pop in and grab a bunch - you’ll leave smiling. <3
1. What made you want to be a florist?
When I was young, my mum painted a trio of watercolours of tulips, which my dad hung above the bathroom mirror. I was mesmerised. From a young age, I remember thinking, “If I don’t know what to do after school, I’ll become a florist because flowers make people happy and I’d love a job that does the same.” Years later, in high school, we did a careers test, and florist came up as one of my top matches. Looking back, it feels so fitting.
2. Most underrated flower and one that deserves a comeback?
Call me boring, but I have to say tulips. I’m a diehard tulip girl. They’re timeless, versatile, and endlessly fascinating. I take personal offence when people say they don’t like tulips. Each morning they grow, change shape, and respond to light and temperature. It’s like watching a little daily miracle. Put them in a fun vase and let them do their thing.

3. If Claudia in Blues Point had a signature scent, what would it smell like?
Forever and ever, Daphne. <3
4. If your shop had a playlist, what three songs would be on it?
-
Meet Me Halfway Black Eyed Peas (I love this one while cleaning the shop)
-
Runaway Love Justin Bieber (the ultimate JB track and a cleaning playlist staple)
-
Anything by Lana Del Rey, most likely Ride.
5. If you could make an arrangement for anyone in the world, who would it be?
My beautiful mum. <3
6. Favourite flower to receive not make?
I couldn’t pick a single favourite, but one special gift stands out. My florist friend Adelaide left a single bunch of Lily of the Valley on the seat of my van at 5 a.m. on a cold market morning. It was such a thoughtful, beautiful gesture.
7. What’s your dream event to create florals for?
All my best friends’ weddings. <3
